William Mak was named head of the Asia-Pacific region at Northern Trust Asset Management, said company spokesman Tim Hacker.
Mr. Mak, who is also a senior vice president, replaces Teresa A. Parker, who will relocate to Chicago to serve as a strategic adviser to Steven L. Fradkin, president of Northern Trust's corporate and institutional services business.
Mr. Mak will lead roughly 3,600 Northern Trust employees in offices in Bangalore, India; Beijing; Hong Kong; Kuala Lumpur; Melbourne, Australia; Singapore and Tokyo. He will report to Mr. Fradkin.
Mr. Mak was Singapore country manager and head of the Southeast Asia region at Northern Trust. His previous position has not yet been filled, Mr. Hacker said.
