Kirsty Jenkinson was named managing director of corporate relations and sustainable investment strategist at the Wespath Investment Management division of the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of The United Methodist Church, according to a statement from the Glenview, Ill.-based organization, which oversees $20.6 billion in assets.
She is scheduled to start May 27. It is a new position. Ms. Jenkinson “will lead a team responsible for providing strategic oversight for ensuring that environmental, social and governance issues are more broadly integrated into Wespath's investment selection and decision-making processes,” the board's statement said.
Among her duties, she will oversee Wespath's strategic ESG engagement and advocacy efforts as well as Wespath's portfolio screening and proxy voting.
Higdon Partners, an executive recruiting firm, assisted in the search, David Zellner, chief investment officer, said in an e-mail. Ms. Jenkinson will report to Mr. Zellner.
Ms. Jenkinson left her position as markets and enterprise program director at the World Resources Institute in April.
Before joining World Resources, Ms. Jenkinson was director of governance and sustainable investment at F&C Asset Management and in various positions at Goldman Sachs International.
