San Antonio Fire & Police Pension Fund committed $15 million each to private equity funds managed by Comvest Partners and ZelnickMedia, according to recently released minutes of the March 27 board meeting.
The ZelnickMedia fund is ZM Capital I. The Comvest fund name was not provided.
The $2.6 billion pension fund does not issue RFPs. Investment consultant NEPC handled the search.
Other finalists were Black Diamond Capital Management and Versa Capital Management.
The pension fund has made several commitments to private equity and private debt funds in the past year, in the range of $10 million to $15 million for each fund
Separately, the pension fund committed an additional $15 million to the GoldenTree Distressed Fund II. GoldenTree managed 1.7% of the pension fund's assets on Sept. 30, according to the pension fund's 2013 annual report.
