Joseph S. Bohrer was named chief investment officer at Lafayette College, said college spokeswoman Brenda Jocsak.
The position is new.
Mr. Bohrer will oversee the day-to-day management of the Easton, Pa.-based college's $800 million endowment. He will report to the committee on investments and Alison Byerly, college president.
Mr. Bohrer was previously an investment director at the $1.65 billion Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, New York. Information on his replacement wasn't available by press time.
