Hartford HealthCare, Hartford, Conn., committed a combined $40 million to five private equity funds, according to David Holmgren, chief investment officer.
The pension and endowment fund, with a total of $2.3 billion in assets, committed $5 million to Encap Flatrock Midstream Fund III; $7 million to Warburg Pincus Energy Fund; $9 million to The Column GroupII; $10 million to Vista Equity Partners Fund V; and $9 million to Lovell Minnick Fund IV, managed by Lovell Minnick Partners.
Private equity is part of the fund’s 55% target allocation to growth assets, which also includes long-only equities, Mr. Holmgren said.
The Vista fund focuses on technology; the Lovell Minnick fund, financial businesses; and the Column fund, biotech venture capital. Encap Flatrock and Warburg Pincus Energy are primarily energy funds.
