Pablo Goldberg was named managing director, portfolio manager and senior strategist at BlackRock, according to spokeswoman Jessica Greaney.
The position is new. Mr. Goldberg will formulate alpha-generating research, develop investment strategies and manage portfolios within the firm's emerging markets fixed-income team. He will be based in New York and report to Sergio Trigo Paz, managing director and head of BlackRock's emerging markets fixed-income team.
Mr. Goldberg was head of emerging markets research at HSBC Holdings. HSBC spokeswoman Juanita Gutierrez confirmed Mr. Goldberg left the firm but declined to comment on a replacement.
