Jonathan Hook will become the first chief investment officer of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation Inc., Owings Mills, Md., effective May 27, Mr. Hook said.
The $2 billion foundation began a search for its first CIO in December due to the foundation's continuing growth in size and complexity, according to a foundation news release.
Mr. Hook said he will leave his current position as vice president and CIO at Ohio State University on May 15. He joined the university as its first CIO in August 2008 and oversees $3.4 billion of long-term investments, including $2.3 billion of endowment assets for the Columbus-based university.
Mr. Hook said he believes the university intends to begin a search for his replacement soon. David Gilmore, director, liquid strategies, will take on the position of interim CIO upon Mr. Hook's departure.
