New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, committed $15.2 million to private equity fund One Rock Capital Partners, according to a notice on the website of state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $173.2 billion pension fund.
One Rock Capital Partners invests in small- to midsize companies in North America. It is a first-time commitment to the manager.
Separately, the pension fund reduced by $100 million its investment in Capital Guardian's emerging markets equity strategy.
No reason was provided for the reduction. For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013, the pension fund had invested $1.14 billion with the strategy, according to the most recent data contained in the pension fund's annual report.
Matthew Sweeney, a spokesman for Mr. DiNapoli, did not provide additional information by press time.
