Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, Nashville, made three new venture capital commitments totaling $51.7 million, according to Blake Fontenay, spokesman for David H. Lillard Jr., state treasurer, who oversees the pension fund.
The $40 billion pension fund committed $25 million to DFJ Venture XI, an early-stage venture capital fund managed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The pension fund committed $25 million to DFJ Venture X in November 2009.
Separately, the pension fund committed $16.7 million to venture capital funds Lightspeed Venture Partners X and $10 million to Lightspeed Venture Partners Select. The pension fund previously committed $25 million to Lightspeed Venture Partners IX in March 2012.
