Jose Placido will join BNP Paribas Securities Services as co-head of sales and relationship management effective April 22, said a spokeswoman for the custody bank.
Mr. Placido will then take over as global head of sales and relationship management next January.
The spokeswoman said Charles Cock, currently head of client development, will serve as co-head with Mr. Placido until he becomes vice chairman-international in January 2015. Mr. Cock's role as vice chairman is new and focuses on new senior relationships, according to a news release. The spokeswoman said the head of client development role will no longer exist, with the sales and relationship management position replacing it.
Mr. Placido will be based in London and will report to Patrick Colle, general manager of BNP Paribas Securities Services.
“Jose has an outstanding track record in our industry for implementing a growth agenda and driving performance,” Mr. Colle said in the news release. “He joins at an important time for our business, which is growing rapidly around the world.”
Mr. Placido was previously CEO of custodian RBC Investor Services, formerly RBC Dexia. He left in February 2013 and was replaced by Tony Johnson and Joanna Meager, according to the company's website.
