Waterton Global Resource Management closed Waterton Precious Metals Fund II, a metals and mining commodities fund, with $1 billion in capital commitments.
The fund was oversubscribed on its $750 million target, according to a news release from the firm. Atlantic-Pacific Capital was the exclusive placement agent for the fund.
Investors include the $16.3 billion Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, and the $13.5 billion Hawaii Employees' Retirement System, Honolulu.
Isser Elishis, managing partner and chief investment officer, could not be reached by press time. Spokesman Riyaz Lalani could not provide further information.
