John Ball was named head of retirement solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Towers Watson, said a spokeswoman for the consultant.
Mr. Ball succeeds Mark Stewart, who is retiring from the firm after 22 years. Mr. Stewart held the position for 10 years. Mr. Ball, who is currently head of Towers Watson's retirement business in the U.K., will start his new role in June.
Mr. Ball will report to Gene Wickes, managing director, benefits, according to the spokeswoman.
“(Mr. Ball) has built an excellent reputation with clients and colleagues alike during his many years with the company, and he is very well placed to lead our retirement solutions business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” said Paul Morris, managing director and EMEA regional leader at Towers Watson, in a news release.
The spokeswoman said Towers Watson has not yet started the recruitment process for Mr. Ball's replacement, but “will do soon.”
