Texas County & District Retirement System committed $50 million Carlyle Realty Partners VII on March 31, according to a transaction report on the $23 billion pension fund's website.
Managed by The Carlyle Group, the opportunistic fund will build a diversified portfolio of U.S. properties across different geographies and sectors.
Separately, TCDRS said it committed $1.8 million to natural resources co-investment fund EnCap Energy Capital Fund VIII Co-investors. The fund will invest in startup companies involved in North American oil and gas exploration and is managed by EnCap Investments.
Including the Carlyle and EnCap commitments, the Austin-based pension fund committed a total of $197 million in the month of March to seven private equity, venture capital and structured capital funds.
