Robert Price joined AXA Investment Managers as a solutions strategist on the liability-driven investment team, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
It is a new position and an expansion of the LDI team, the spokeswoman said. Mr. Price will help to design and manage liability risk management solutions, implement trades, and deliver information and analytics to U.K. pension funds.
“(U.K. trustees) still face important decisions, such as when and how to hedge inflation and interest rate risk, and how to invest when there is a chronic shortage of long-dated gilt issuance,” said Jonathan Crowther, head of U.K. LDI at AXA Investment Managers, in a news release.
Mr. Price was an investment consultant in KPMG's investment advisory division, where he advised trustees and sponsors on asset-liability modeling. A spokeswoman for KPMG did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
