Texas County & District Retirement System invested $150 million on Tuesday in Highline Capital Partners QP, a long/short equity fund managed by Highline Capital Management, according to a transaction report on the $23 billion pension fund’s website.
In March, the Austin-based pension fund committed a total of $145 million to five private equity, venture capital and structured capital funds.
TCDRS’ two most recent commitments were $75 million to Vista Equity Partners Fund V, a software- and technology-focused buyout fund, and $15 million to Marlin Heritage Partners, a special situations fund managed by Marlin Equity Partners.
In May 2013, the pension fund committed $25 million to small-cap buyout Vista Foundation Fund II. In April 2013, the fund committed $35 million to Marlin Equity IV fund. Investment in the fourth Marlin equity fund was a requirement for investing in the Heritage Partners fund.
