Are you harboring the best investment idea in the world? Do you long for a chance to explain your rationale to the investment world?
The Sohn Conference Foundation, New York, has a stage ready for you. That is, if you are best in what's likely to be a fiercely competitive field.
To win the annual Sohn Investment Idea Contest, all you have to do is pick the best publicly traded security with a market capitalization of at least $1 billion.
Your application — available on the foundation's website at www.sohnconference.org/contest, along with deadline details — will be judged by a distinguished group of investment gurus: Seth A. Klarman, president and CEO, The Baupost Group LLC; Joel M. Greenblatt, managing principal and co-chief investment officer, Gotham Asset Management LLC; David M. Einhorn, president and senior manager, Greenlight Capital Inc.; Michael F. Price, managing member and CEO, MFP Investors LLC; and William A. Ackman, CEO, Pershing Square Capital Management LP.
The contest winner will be given the stage for 10 minutes at the 19th annual Sohn Investment Conference in New York on May 5 to present his or her investment idea to the audience of 3,000 investors.
Founded in 1995, the Sohn Investment Conference honors the memory of Ira Sohn, a New York trader, who succumbed to cancer at the age of 29.
The size of the foundation could not be learned.
