More than 45% of P&I Online readers believe a private equity firm will win the auction of Russell Investments.
Last week, P&I Online asked readers: "What kind of company do you expect to be the successful bidder for Russell Investments?"
The second most popular answer was a foreign strategic buyer, which received about 21%. The third most popular answer was a tie between U.S. strategic buyer and U.S. financial holding company, each receiving about 13%. The least popular answer was international holding company, which received about 8%.
While readers believe private equity is the most likely buyer, Russell's parent, Northwestern Mutual, reportedly is limiting private equity bidders, according to a Pensions & Investments story.
