City of Milwaukee Employes’ Retirement System committed $35 million to Abbott Capital Private Equity Investors AP 2014, a fund of funds managed by Abbott Capital Management.
It is the $4.9 billion pension fund’s first commitment to the fund. CMERS has committed about $200 million to other Abbott funds over the last five years, said David M. Silber, chief investment officer.
”Vintage year diversification is very important” for the pension fund, Mr. Silber said.
Callan Associates, the pension fund’s investment consultant, assisted, Mr. Silber said.
