San Joaquin County Employees' Retirement Association, Stockton, Calif., will begin a search for an investment consultant in August, CEO Annette St. Urbain wrote in an e-mail.
The $2.3 billion pension fund is expecting to issue an RFP that month due to the contract expiration of current consultant Strategic Investment Solutions on March 31, 2015.
Ms. Urbain wrote that the board decided it would be a matter of “fiduciary prudence (to) conduct a search for general investment consulting services.” SIS will be invited to rebid.
A decision is expected in January 2015.
