Steve Carlson was named head of investment, Americas, at Towers Watson, spokesman Ed Emerman said.
Mr. Carlson replaces Chris DeMeo, who left in February to start an investment advisory business focusing on small- and midmarket institutions.
Mr. Carlson will be responsible for overseeing Towers Watsons' investment business in the Americas. He will report to Chris Ford, global head of investment.
Mr. Carlson was leader of U.S. advisory services at Towers Watson. The company plans to fill that position over time, according to Mr. Emerman.
