F&C Investments achieved 293 instances of change on behalf of its investors following engagement with companies over issues including executive remuneration, labor standards and human rights, according to its latest annual responsible investment report.
The report looks at trends within the way F&C engaged with its external clients over environmental, social and governance issues in 2013.
The manager, which has £83.4 billion ($137.8 billion) of assets under management, engaged 716 companies across nearly 50 countries on the issues, voting on more than 59,000 resolutions. According to the report, it supported management in almost 76% of proposals in 2013, an increase of 2 percentage points on support in 2012.
“Over 2013, F&C Investments achieved almost 300 instances of change as a result of our dialogue with companies, which we believe were crucial in reducing the environmental, social and governance risks,” said Vicki Bakhshi, head of governance and sustainable investment at F&C Investments.
