Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association, Denver, will search for an active emerging markets fixed-income manager to run about $400 million, spokeswoman Katie Kaufmanis wrote in an e-mail.
Investment consultant Hewitt EnnisKnupp will assist the $42.3 billion pension fund’s staff in the search, she wrote. No formal RFP is expected to be issued. The emerging markets fixed-income portfolio is now managed internally.
The board also approved an asset-liability study conducted by staffers and Hewitt EnnisKnupp. The study is being conducted as a periodic review and is expected to be completed by early 2015, Ms. Kaufmanis wrote.
Separately, the pension fund made a follow-on commitment of $20 million to Warburg Pincus Private Equity XI. The commitment brings the pension fund’s total investment in the private equity fund to $120 million.
