Stephen Nichols resigned as CEO of The Pensions Trust, Leeds, England, said Sarah Smart, chairwoman of the trust.
Mr. Nichols had been CEO since 2007, and joined the £5.7 billion ($9.4 billion) multiemployer pension fund in 2002. Ms. Smart said she did not know what Mr. Nichols' plans are. Mr. Nichols did not respond to requests for comment by press time.
The board is looking to replace Mr. Nichols as soon as possible, “hopefully within a few weeks,” Ms. Smart said in a telephone interview. It expects to appoint an interim CEO until a permanent one can be put in place.
