Louisiana School Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired Acadian Asset Management and Brandes Investment Partners to run a total of $170 million in active emerging markets equities, said Christopher Saik, interim chief investment officer.
They are the $1.7 billion pension fund's first emerging markets equity managers; how the portfolio will be split has yet to be determined.
Funding will come from domestic equities; no managers will be terminated.
Investment consultant Segal Rogerscasey assisted.
