Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, Topeka, made two new commitments totaling up to $90 million, a spokeswoman said.
The $14.4 billion pension fund committed up to $50 million to Freeman Spogli Equity Partners Fund VII, a private equity fund. It is a first-time commitment.
The pension fund also committed up to $40 million to CBRE Strategic Partners U.S. Value 7, a real estate fund managed by CBRE Global Investors. The pension fund previously committed up to $40 million to the manager's U.S. Value 6 in May 2012.
