Ralph D. Marsh was named executive director of the $3.7 billion Houston Firefighters’ Relief & Retirement Fund, said Christopher Gonzales, current executive director and chief investment officer.
Mr. Marsh, who starts on April 1, replaces Mr. Gonzales, who has been in the dual role since 2008. The hiring is the result of Mr. Gonzales’ request that the pension fund split the positions so he could concentrate solely on investments.
Mr. Marsh is serving a one-year term as president of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, and is also chairman of the board of trustees of the $3.9 billion Houston Police Officers’ Pension System.
