Tim Gardener was appointed global head of AXA Investment Managers' newly created institutional client group, confirmed a spokeswoman for the money manager.
Mr. Gardener, previously global head of consultant relations at the €547 billion ($763.1 billion) manager, will lead the development of the firm's strategies for institutional clients, covering pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies.
Elodie Laugel, previously head of solutions development at the manager's multiasset client solutions team, becomes deputy head of the new group. The spokeswoman said a replacement for Ms. Laugel will be announced in due course.
Lisa O'Connor, European head of consultant relations, succeeds Mr. Gardener. Any replacement for Ms. O'Connor will also be announced in due course, according to the spokeswoman.
The institutional client group forms part of AXA's new client group, made up of 250 staffers across three segments: institutional, retail and wholesale clients.
