Richard Gray joined Engaged Capital as chief client officer, confirmed Glenn W. Welling, principal and chief investment officer at the activist investment firm specializing in small- and midcap North American equities.
The position is new. He will manage client relationships and new business development for the firm, according to a spokesman.
Mr. Gray was most recently a managing director and institutional client adviser at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. According to Engaged Capital’s website, Mr. Gray was most recently responsible for new business development in J.P. Morgan’s global alternative investments business. A spokesman for J.P. Morgan said no one has been named to replace him yet.
