Emerging markets private equity firms raised $6.5 billion in the first two months of 2014, an increase of 32% from the year-earlier period, according to the database of Palico, an online private equity marketplace.
Palico's data covers more than 7,200 general partners and 12,000 funds.
Close to 17% of private equity capital raised in the first two months of 2014 went to emerging markets private equity funds, up from 8.5% in all of 2013, according to Palico data.
