Washtenaw County, Ann Arbor, Mich., hired TIAA-CREF as bundled provider of its new 401(a) plan, confirmed Monica L. Boote, human resources operational director.
The county issued an RFP in July. The 401(a) plan opened Jan. 1 as a result of the closing of the $227 million Washtenaw County Employees Retirement System.
New employees hired after Jan. 1 became participants in the 401(a) plan and current employees had the option of transferring to the DC plan from the defined benefit plan.
