Michael Calbert, member and head of KKR & Co's retail team is retiring, but he will remain involved with two portfolio companies — U.S. Foods and Academy Sports and Outdoors, said spokeswoman Kristi Huller in an e-mailed response to questions.
Mr. Calbert will be replaced as head of the team making retail acquisitions by Nathaniel Taylor, also a member — KKR's term for partner — who was a senior member of KKR's retail investment group. He takes over the day-to-day leadership of the team.
“Mike has played an important role in continuing our 30-year history of successful investing in the retail sector and we wish him well in his new endeavors,” according to a KKR written statement. “Nate Taylor has been a key member of the retail team and we are confident he will continue KKR's strong leadership in this space that has long benefited our investors.”
