Tony Schultz has joined KKR & Co. in Sydney as a managing director on the alternative investment giant's global energy and infrastructure team.
The position is new, confirmed Anita Davis, a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman for KKR.
KKR's appointment of Mr. Schultz marks the expansion of the company's energy and infrastructure team, Ms. Davis said. In addition to Mr. Schultz, Ash Upadhyaya, a New York-based director on the team since 2011, will relocate to Singapore.
Mr. Schultz was a managing director with EIG Global Energy Partners and head of the firm's Sydney office, where he focused on energy, metals and mining investments in the Asia-Pacific region.
A U.S.-based spokeswoman for EIG said Andrew Zhmurovsky, previously a senior vice president in the Sydney office, has replaced Mr. Schultz as head of the Sydney office.
