Government Employees Pension Fund, Pretoria, South Africa, is searching for a custodian, confirmed Hemal Naran, head of investment and actuarial at the fund.
The pension fund, which has about 1.4 trillion South African Rand ($130 billion), according to Mr. Naran, is Africa's largest pension fund. The current custodian, and whether it can rebid, could not be learned by press time.
The pension fund is looking for a custodian to provide services including reporting, performance measurement and attribution, securities lending and borrowing activities.
The RFP is available on the GEPF website. Proposals are due March 31. A decision date could not be learned.
