Fortress Investment Group's assets under management rose to $61.8 billion as of Dec. 31, up 6.5% from three months earlier and up 15.5% from a year earlier.
Logan Circle Partners, the firm's traditional money management unit, had 41.1% of the firm's assets as of Dec. 31. Private equity accounts for another 25.2%, while credit hedge funds held 21.7% and liquid hedge funds, 12%.
Net inflows for Logan Circle were $1.54 billion for the quarter and $4.75 billion for the full year. Fortress said 13 of 16 Logan Circle strategies outperformed their benchmarks.
The company also said it raised $1.5 billion in capital across its alternative investment units in the fourth quarter, which brought the full-year total to $6.5 billion.
Full-year performance for hedge fund strategies was positive: Drawbridge Special Opportunities Fund returned 18.4%, Fortress Asia Macro Fund returned 17.1% and Fortress Macro Fund returned 14.1%.
The firm said private equity valuations fell 2.5% during fourth quarter but rose 14.4% for the full year.
