David Bell has been appointed chief investment officer of A$7.9 billion (US$7.1 billion) AUSCOAL Super.
It is a new position at the Sydney-based superannuation fund and is focused on the retirement needs of workers in mining-related industries. Mr. Bell effectively replaces Paul Coenraads, who left his post as head of investments at AUSCOAL in September.
Mr. Bell said in a telephone interview that he will join the fund officially in July but will serve AUSCOAL on a consulting basis in the interim as he winds down St. David’s Rd. Advisory, the consulting business he opened five years ago.
