Kathryn Graham was appointed head of strategy coordination for the £40 billion ($66.7 billion) Universities Superannuation Scheme, London, confirmed a spokesman for the pension fund.
It is a new position, and Ms. Graham starts on Monday and will be responsible for ensuring that the strategic asset allocation decisions made by USS trustees are correctly implemented by the in-house investment manager, USS Investment Management, and by external managers, the spokesman confirmed.
“Increasingly, we are taking a whole-scheme view to investment and risk management, and through the development of this role, we hope to achieve greater synergies amongst our various asset classes and managers to deliver the most effective investment strategy,” said Roger Gray, USS chief investment officer, in a news release.
Ms. Graham was most recently director of special projects at BT Pension Scheme Management. Her duties were assumed by current staff members, and no replacement will be named, according to a BT Pension Scheme spokeswoman.
