Fraser Smart was appointed group president of Buck Consultants, relocating to the New York office from London, confirmed a spokeswoman for the global consultant.
Mr. Smart replaces Mike Roberts, who left in January to return to the U.K. for family reasons, according to the spokeswoman.
Mr. Smart, who is responsible for leading the business worldwide, was most recently managing director, Europe, for Buck Consultants. Mr. Smart's role has been taken on by Steven White, managing director of Buck's global investment advisors and global benefits administration group. Mr. White will be responsible for the combined administration and consulting business in Europe.
However, Mr. White retains responsibility for the benefits administration business in Europe and for the global investment consulting business. The spokeswoman said internal promotions within those teams are expected in the near future.
