Dan Bienvenue was named senior investment officer for global equity at the CalPERS, spokesman Joe DeAnda confirmed Thursday.
Mr. Bienvenue had been serving as acting senior investment officer for $141.8 billion global equity portfolio since June, filling the post vacated when Eric Baggesen was named senior investment officer for asset allocation and risk management.
Mr. Bienvenue was senior portfolio manager for global equity at the $282.5 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento. In that role, he was responsible for managing the pension fund's internally managed equity portfolio.
Mr. DeAnda said a search is being conducted for a new senior portfolio manager for global equity.
