Small to midmarket buyout funds seen as top private equity opportunity in 2014

Seventy-two percent of institutional investors recently surveyed by Preqin said they plan to invest in funds that follow a "small to midmarket buyout strategy." Distressed and secondaries strategies were next at 30% and 28%, respectively, followed by "large to megabuyout" and venture capital funds with 15% each.
