Nick Payne was appointed Latin American portfolio manager at Nomura Asset Management U.K., confirmed Mark Roxburgh, head of marketing and client relations.
Mr. Payne's appointment bolsters the firm's emerging markets coverage based in London. He replaced Luciano Brandao, according to the spokesman.
Mr. Payne was head of Latin American equities and a manager of emerging markets equity portfolios at Rexiter Capital Management. A spokeswoman for State Street Global Advisors, which owns the emerging markets boutique, was not available to comment by press time.
“With this appointment, we are closer to achieving our goal of building a globally recognized emerging markets equity competence,” said Jonathan Bell, head of emerging markets equities at Nomura.
