Edward J. Perkin was named chief equity investment officer at Eaton Vance Management, confirmed Robyn Tice, a spokeswoman for the Eaton Vance Corp. subsidiary.
Mr. Perkin replaces Duncan Richardson, who retired Oct. 31, and Thomas E. Faust Jr., chairman and CEO of Eaton Vance, who has served as interim chief equity investment officer since Mr. Richardson’s departure.
Beginning April 29, Mr. Perkin will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Eaton Vance Management’s equity group and for overseeing the equity investment process. He will also be a member of the Eaton Vance management committee and report directly to Mr. Faust.
Mr. Perkin was chief investment officer, international and emerging markets equity, and managing director, portfolio manager, Europe, EAFE and global, at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Mr. Perkin’s responsibilities have been taken over by two senior members of the team, according to GSAM spokeswoman Andrea Raphael. Suneil Mahindru, current lead portfolio manager for the firm’s global equity partners strategy, will become the CIO of international equity. Prashant Khemka, who currently leads GSAM’s emerging markets and India equity strategies, will become the CIO of emerging markets equity.
