Lane MacDonald is leaving his position as managing director of private equity at Harvard Management Co. after two months on the job, confirmed a Harvard official who asked to not be named.
Mr. MacDonald will be on the job at least through the end of the month. Harvard has not named a replacement.
HMC manages the $32.3 billion Harvard University endowment, Cambridge, Mass.
Beginning March 3, Mr. MacDonald will be the president of Crosby Co. of New Hampshire, the family office for the Johnson family, owners of Fidelity Investments, according to Fidelity spokesman Vincent Loporchio.
Mr. Loporchio did not disclose whom Mr. MacDonald is replacing by press time.
