Cressida Hogg will join the C$192.8 billion ($175.4 billion) Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Toronto, confirmed a source with knowledge of the situation.
The source said Ms. Hogg will join the infrastructure team in London.
A spokeswoman for CPPIB said the firm was not providing official comment at this time.
Ms. Hogg is managing partner, infrastructure, at 3i Group in London, and will leave March 31, confirmed a spokeswoman for the private equity and infrastructure group.
Ms. Hogg joined 3i from J.P. Morgan in 1995 and founded 3i's infrastructure business in 2005.
Phil White and Ben Loomes will become co-managing partners of 3i's infrastructure business. Mr. White will be responsible for portfolio management and Mr. Loomes for strategic development, according to a regulatory filing with the London Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Neil King will become senior partner and will lead investment origination and fundraising activity. Messrs White and King are currently members of the infrastructure team. Mr. Loomes will also continue in his current role as group strategy director, but will step down from 3i Infrastructure PLC's board of directors.
The infrastructure business has £2.4 billion ($4 billion) in assets under management.
