Sid Newby joined BNP Paribas Securities Services as head of pension fund sales, confirmed Annalisa Winge Bicknell, head of sales and relationship management for institutional investors at the $8 trillion custody bank.
The position is new.
Mr. Newby was head of sales, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, for BNY Mellon’s asset servicing business. A spokesman for BNY Mellon confirmed his departure late last year and said a permanent replacement had not yet been announced.
BNP Paribas has also made two other appointments to the team.
Aida Molineux is head of client services, leading a team covering asset owners, asset managers and alternative investment managers. Ms. Molineux was a management consultant at Ernst & Young.
Felix Schachter becomes head of insurance company sales, developing the BNP’s insurance custody business. Mr. Schachter joined from management consultant McLagan, where he led the European insurance practice for financial services.
“Our ambition is to grow the business,” Ms. Bicknell said in a telephone interview. “I wouldn’t say we are done (with hiring), but we are in a great place and ready to embrace the market,” she added.
“We are relatively new to the pension fund segment and to the asset owner segment in the U.K., but we are well-versed in these clients around the world.”
