Marc Seidner was named head of fixed income at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co., confirmed company spokesman Tucker Hewes.
Beginning March 4, Mr. Seidner will replace Tom Cooper, who will continue in his role leading the firm’s emerging markets debt strategies. Mr. Seidner will work out of GMO’s Boston office and oversee the firm’s fixed-income strategy, reporting directly to CEO Brad Hilsabeck.
Mr. Seidner was a managing director and portfolio manager at Pacific Investment Management Co. and a member of the firm’s investment committee. PIMCO spokeswoman Agnes Crane said the firm has made some recent hires concurrent with Mr. Seidner’s departure but did not specify whether any of them specifically replace him.
