Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, Denver, is searching for its first hedge fund consultant, confirmed spokeswoman Katie Kaufmanis.
The $42.3 billion pension fund does not have any hedge fund investments. The search is being handled internally. The pension fund has not decided whether it will actually make any direct investments in hedge funds.
The current target asset allocation is 56% global equity, 25% fixed income, 7% each real estate and alternatives, and 5% opportunity.
The RFP is available on the pension fund's website. Proposals are due March 10. A hiring decision is expected in late April.
