Keiichi Miki joined UBS Global Asset Management in Tokyo as representative director and president of UBS Global Asset Management Japan, confirmed Jason Kendy, a Tokyo-based spokesman for the firm.
Mr. Miki takes over those posts from Kai Sotorp, the firm’s Hong Kong-based managing director and head of Asia Pacific, who assumed them on a transitional basis from July 2013, after Susumu Okamura left the industry to start an education-related venture.
Mr. Miki was representative director and president at Lazard Asset Management K.K. in Japan.
Yugo Ishida took over at Lazard Japan as CEO in January. He was an adviser to the board of directors of Nomura Asset Management; he also held a series of other senior executive posts, including president and chief operating officer of the firm. A spokeswoman for Nomura Asset Management said at the time that Mr. Ishida’s role as adviser to the board won’t be filled.
