Takuya Koyama joined Nikko Asset Management as global head of sales, according to a company news release.
It is a new position, leading global institutional sales and international retail sales, confirmed a spokeswoman.
Mr. Koyama was founder and CEO of Linkage Partners, a Tokyo-based strategic consulting firm. Further information on Linkage Partners couldn’t immediately be learned.
In addition, Hideyuki Omokawa joined Nikko Asset Management as head of strategic product innovation, also a new position at the firm. He will oversee the development of products on a global basis.
Mr. Omokawa was president of FGI Capital Partners, a Tokyo-based alternative investment manager, according to the news release. An FGI spokeswoman said Shigeki Aihara succeeded Mr. Omokawa as president.
Also, Motonobu Hasegawa joined Nikko Asset Management as global head of requests for proposals, a new position, the spokeswoman said.
Mr. Hasegawa was director, wholesale business, wholesale marketing support at UBS Global Asset Management, the spokeswoman said. A UBS spokesman in Tokyo said he had no information on plans to fill the position.
