Taiwan Fund hired Allianz Global Investors as subadviser of its $172 million portfolio, confirmed spokesman Warren Antler.
The fund issued a search for a new manager after the fund's previous investment manager, APS Asset Management, terminated its subadviser, Martin Currie.
The hire is pending approval by the fund's shareholders on April 22.
Taiwan Fund is a closed-end fund that allows U.S. investors to access and participate in the Taiwan stock market.
