California State Teachers' Retirement System, West Sacramento, is searching for a director of global equity, confirmed spokesman Ricardo Duran.
David Murphy, portfolio manager, is serving as acting director. He was a co-acting director along with David Castillo before Mr. Castillo died last year. Trish Taniguchi, the previous permanent director, retired in December 2012.
The director of global equity reports to Michelle Cunningham, deputy chief investment officer, and Christopher Ailman, CIO.
The $181.1 billion pension fund had a 56.6% actual allocation to global equity as of Dec. 31.
Executive search firm EFL Associates is assisting in the search. The job posting is on the National Association of State Retirement Administrators' website.
